VfB Stuttgart's central defender Finn Jeltsch is drawing interest from an increasing number of top European clubs.
According to Sky, Jeltsch was recently closely watched by FC Barcelona and Inter Milan. Scouts from both clubs reportedly attended VfB's Champions League match against Viking Stavanger several weeks ago in Stuttgart to observe Jeltsch live.
Sky reports that the 20-year-old is also attracting interest from several English top clubs, in addition to Barcelona and Inter. Spanish newspaper AS recently reported that Barcelona's fierce rival, Real Madrid, also has Jeltsch on their list.
Finn Jeltsch's Contract Status at VfB Stuttgart
Stuttgart would ideally like to keep Jeltsch for a long time. However, with such notable interested parties and a contract valid until 2030, a significant transfer fee would be expected for the defensive talent should a sale occur.
VfB signed Jeltsch from second-division club 1. FC Nürnberg in early 2025 for a transfer fee of 9.5 million euros. He has since become an indispensable part of coach Sebastian Hoeneß's team, starting in all six competitive matches this season and generally impressing.
New national team coach Jürgen Klopp has recognized Jeltsch's development with his first call-up to the German senior national team. The Stuttgart player remained on the bench for the entire 90 minutes during the 2-0 win against Serbia on Thursday, and he might make his international debut in Greece on Sunday.
