Vercelli: Nzola ready for Juventus match, unlikely to start
Matteo Vercelli, a journalist for L'Unione Sarda, shared his thoughts on Cagliari's potential lineup for the upcoming match against Juventus during a Radiolina broadcast. His comments were reported by TuttoCagliari.net.
Lineup Set to Remain Similar
Vercelli believes coach Fabio Pisacane will largely stick to the formation used against Inter, with the only significant change being the absence of Deiola.
"Considering the start of the season and the performance against Inter, which is comparable to the challenge against Juventus, the setup will likely stay the same, apart from Deiola's unavailability, of course."
Nzola's Role Against Juventus
Addressing the possibility of Nzola featuring, Vercelli anticipates the forward will primarily be used as a substitute. He expects Mendy to retain his starting position.
"Nzola will definitely be involved in the game. I doubt he'll start because Mendy has been performing very well, and Pisacane will likely continue to trust him. Against Juventus, possession will favor the opponent. It's crucial to have a physically prepared player capable of pressing and covering defensive roles not typically associated with a striker. I don't think Nzola is currently suited for that, but he will be a valuable asset during the match."
