Spence Debuts, Diouf Solidifies His Status. Now Parma: Chivu Witnesses the Birth of a Dualism

The international break is drawing to a close. Following Yann Bisseck, all players who were on national duty will gradually return to Appiano in preparation for the Serie A match against Alberto Gilardino's new-look Parma. Among them will be French player Andy Diouf, who experienced his first start for the senior national team – at left-back – in the 1-0 away win against Belgium.

The Frenchman's return to Appiano coincides with the first opportunity, since Englishman Djed Spence joined the Inter galaxy, for both of Inter's main right-back options to be available to coach Cristian Chivu.

Looking Ahead to Parma and the Rest of the Season

Spence's recent return to full fitness might lead the Milanese coach to favor Diouf for another start. However, Spence's Serie A debut itself is significant for its present and, crucially, future implications. The gradual integration of the 2000-born player into the team's mechanisms will inevitably create a dualism. Chivu's critical task will be to turn this competition into a tool that mutually enriches both players, ultimately benefiting the entire Inter squad.
