Pio Esposito: "We had fun today. We must always have this enthusiasm"
Pio Esposito, an attacker for the Italian national team, spoke to Rai Sport after the 4-1 win against Turkey. Esposito, an Inter Milan player, contributed a goal and an assist in the match. "First and foremost, I want to dedicate this goal to my grandmother, who is going through a difficult time. I really wanted to score to dedicate it to her," he said.
Playing with your brother?
"I remember well what it's like to debut for the national team. I tried not to put extra pressure on him, and I hope he enjoyed it to the fullest. It was great to share it with him, and we hope to do it many more times."
How much did you want to show that Italy is still here?
"A lot. When you play in this jersey, you must always have enthusiasm. Things don't always go well in football, but we must always maintain this attitude."
Are you enjoying yourselves on the field?
"Absolutely. We had fun today, and I think it showed."
